Hello, I work for Bayside Drafting, part of the Bayside group of companies, and we are looking for a new trainee draftsperson. We are looking for an 18 to 20 year old, and the cadetship will last for four years. You will be encouraged, ( but not forced ), to attend college and will be given one 'half' day off per week toward this, should you choose to study a subject relevent to engineering. You will ultimately be responsible for using the latest high-end 3D computer modelling packages to create 3D models of steel structures, such as shopping centres, warehouses, mine works and sports stadiums. From these models you then create 'shop' drawings on which you send the required information to the workshops for the steel to me made. If you want to see the kind of things you could be doing by the end of your cadetship, then take a look at my old website:- What a draftsperson does - CLICKY So, if you are looking for an exciting career in structural steel, that can also pave the way to other careers in engineering then drop me a note and we'll have you in for a chat. The official blurb from our advertising campaign is copied below. Tony. TRAINEE – STEEL DETAILING Short description: Entry-level opportunity for Structural Steel Detailing Trainee with Bayside Drafting Australia. Job ad: Bayside Drafting Australia, in operation for over 30 years, is providing an excellent entry-level opportunity in structural steel detailing. You will work on industrial, commercial and mining projects and learn in-depth drafting for steel construction. In house training is provided in Structural Steel Detailing using AutoCAD 2D as well as AutoCAD 3D and 3D modelling packages. You will posses: • A willingness to learn and be part of an international team • A keen interest in technical drafting • A drive for being challenged in an environment where deadlines need to be met • Good communication skills This is a permanent career opportunity, where you will learn the foundations of steel detailing during a 4-year traineeship, and progress your career within Bayside Drafting & Electrical Design, part of the Bayside Group. |

Well, congratulations to the newest member of the team here at Bayside Drafting. It's not my place to post on here who it is, other than it is the son of one of the Britvic's members, ( feel free to post up yourself if your watching and don't mind people knowing who you are ). He came across as a level-headed, stand up young man, and I'm sure he'll make a great draughtsman, ( or draftsman as the Ozzies call them ). Good luck ***** and see you Monday morning. Tony. |
