Hi everyone, Some folk may not know that there has been a club for British people and their descendants in Melbourne since 1967. Originally called the "United Kingdom Settlers' Association", it changed its name a few years ago to the "British Australian Community". The BAC is an Incorporated Association (regulated by the Victorian Government), staffed entirely by volunteers, which has represented the British community down under for the last 41 years. Some of our volunteers are now getting a bit long in the teeth, so if any Britvics feel like taking up the baton to help our community, please get in touch. Best wishes, Alan Contact: Proud to be British Australians Phone: 03 9866 1722 Write to: ESU House 146 West Toorak Road South Yarra VIC 3141 |

If you ever find out PJ would you put it up on the forum. I've always wanted to see it ever since that Guinness advert was on a few years back and I asked an Irish colleague what sport it was. |

 I'm after the tools of the trade, I presume you wanted a hurling video? I have the 2008 All Ireland Hurling Final .avi, PM me your address and I'll pop it on DVD ( its 900MB ) and put it in the post for ya. Its OK quality, but there are very few seeds, took me an age to torrent. You will notice around the 16th minute, a player breaks a finger....and carries on. There is a story about John Wayne, when he was filming The Quiet Man in Ireland, he went to a game of hurling. It was a particulary rough game, with blood, broken bones and stretchers in constant use. AT half time, his Irish minder asked the question: "Tell us John, would you like to be out there with a hurley in your hand for the second half?" To which The Big Man replied, in his best hollywood accent: "Wellllll, I sure as hell wouldnt like to be out there WITHOUT ONE!" The tools: Hurley Posted Image Sliotar: Posted Image PJ |
