We really want to get a pool sorted out sooner rather than later so am looking for someone who can do the whole job. Access is not a problem. We're in Skye and would love to have it started asap. Do you know of anyone that you can recommend? We also need a painter and decorator... It's only a three bedroom place and I just got quoted between $6,000 and $7,000. :ugh: I expected the paint to cost anything up to $1,000 max but that quote is seriously taking the p*ss. I'd be better off getting a week off work and doing it myself. Trish |

What kind of pool ? Above ground, below ground, fibreglass or concrete ? There are loads of pool companies, but I do know that you will struggle to get one in before Feb/March now due to the xmas/summer break, and that even in these times of recession, the pool companies are still pretty busy. I have seen prices for inground pools varying anything from $20k to $50k. Its all down to what you want, and how you want it finished. Dont forget to take into account a safety fence, paving & re-doing the garden after the diggers have destroyed everything. $5k just for that wont get you far. Our pool will probably set us back nearly $45k when finally finished. (10.5m x 4.4m fibreglass with spa, lights, solar heating, fencing, paving etc etc) cant help with the painter, but it does seem to be a bit expensive. I would take the second option of a week off work myself and save a few grand personally (and I HATE!!!!!! painting) but I would prefer to spend the money on something else personally. |

The way things are going I will be doing the house myself. I'm def in the wrong job cause their is no way I'm earning that in a month never mind a week. :no way: We are looking at a half and half pool, half inground and half above ground. I've no idea what they cost to install but was allowing for around $30,000 am now wondering if that's enough. Anyway, thanks for the reply. Will need to chat about it a bit more with hubby. Trish |
