Wow, I'm just blown away by how creative the US writers have been with Life on Mars. Their season was quite different to the UK version and rightly so in my view. The acting surpassed the UK version by a mile and so did the photography and art direction, not to mention the special effects and set design which turned New York in to 1973. The UK ending for Sam Tyler was a depressing load of crap which just showed once again that UK TV writers are full of ideas but couldn't write a happy ending if they had a gun to their head. I mean come on... suicide!? Jesus. Suffice to say you should seriously watch all 17 episodes of Life on Mars US and bathe in the outstanding finale with it's unique and far more fulfilling ending. Wow.. I'm still gob-smacked... What an fecking AWESOME series. Al |

Sorry, the UK version was superior IMO. The US version was more lavish and obviously had a lot more money spent on it, it was enjoyable too, but the casting of Harvey K was a bad move IMO and I just couldn't connect to it like I could the UK version. |
