Okay - all round to Mo's then this Sunday?

A Sunday roast at the local pub is one of the things I really miss about the UK. In winter we used to take a 30 mins walk to this lovely old pub and have a roast, a bottle of wine, pudding, coffee, read the papers and then stagger home a few hours later. One of the few good things to really enjoy in winter.

I've seaching Google to see if such a place existed in Mornington! Has to be in walking distance to enjoy the wine!

You will have to share with some very close Ozzies friends that come around every third to fourth sunday, they are now hooked on the English Sunday Roast not sure they would be prepared to share the Yorkshire Puds though

Ooooo Yorkshire Puds. Must put an order in to Mum to cook a roast for us when we get back!

I love roasts but hate cooking them as they always taste nicer when someone else has cooked it (and done the washing up afterwards....... )

Suedes here are called turnips and they have them next to the white turnips. I love it too.

We gave up the yorkshire puds a long while ago due to weight problems not that it has made any difference.

All the pubs do a roast every day. I used to take Mum to the Dava for lunch on a Wednesday and she always has the roast. Now its getting cooler might start taking her again.

We have one of those roast takeaway shops here in Somerville and its very popular been here quite a while.

So what do they call a turnip then? A swede is different in shape - round instead of pointy!

Use Greens Gravy Granuels, yummy and thick and even better with the juice of the roast joint plus a touch of garlic and a dash of worcestershire sauce.

Love swede and carrot mashed together with Larpak Butter.

By the way the roast was lovely x

Tina, the only way I can get mine to rise here is in a lasagne dish......I have ditched the yorkie pans :nah:

The lasagne dish is just the right size for a great toad in the hole too!
