Visited it for the 1st time last night for the Collingwood v's Essendon game. The game was a bit one sided (atleast my boy was happy) but the ground is very impressive,i reckon you have a great view from wherever you sit.Getting back to Pakenham on the train was easy considering there were nearly 80,000 people attending. All in all very impressed :yeap: Lee :flower: |

You'll be converted soon enough. You can almost feel the Aussie-ness seeping in. Good show by the Pies. Thought the Bombers could have put on a better show Al |

If they go the same way they did last September you'll need to take 'em to the vet. Go Saints! |

14 goals up on the reigning premiers at 'orange time', what more can one say, this is the year of the Doggies (again!) MCG is brill and you don't know how lucky you are with it, the tennis centre, the new ground for soccer and league being built, a tartan running track and the Lexus centre (even if it is the home of the Pies) all in close proximity to the CBD and a lovely walk along the river. Doesn't get any better as far as a sports afficionado goes. I'll look forward to parking at the 'G' and walking across to the tennis in January. |

Oh? That you and Mrs Tennis on holiday or moving back? As for the Doggies, well you must have been happy after the final siren but let's see where things are in September. I think the Hawks had bird flu last night. |

The MCG is a great stadium but in my opinion its no longer a great cricket ground wich is what its original intention was, i now rate the MCG the second worst ground in Australia for test cricket only beaten by the Gabba. Time for Melbourne to build a new cricket venue, The boxing day test not even full on Boxing day any longer unless its against England and the other days r just devoid of atmosphere. It will be a great venue for 20Twenty but thats it. State cricket at the MCG is just painfull with absolutely no atmosphere. Its great for AFL and when Australia play a big football international but does suffer a bit from a feeling of soviet era concrete brutality with little intimacy or class. |
