This was discussed some time ago under CBD car parking, but when I search I just get odd threads with no relevance. I seem to recall that Crown's Southgate car park was best value. We need a Saturday night from about 4pm for 24 hours. The hotel's rate is ridiculous, so I'm hoping to do better. Grateful for any advice. Maggie |

Hi :waving: We always park at Crown too if we're going into that part of the city. We parked there on New Years Eve and it only cost us $10  most of the other car parks were charging $20+. I found this Crown parking showing the parking rates but not sure what it would be for 24hrs, might be worth giving them a quick call. Debb |

You can park all day for $5 at the Waterfront City car park, (by the big white elephant, oops sorry big wheel) Then it is just a quick dander through the shopping centre and you can get a tram around to southbank, or the free tourist bus will get there (eventually via everywhere else) |

Somewhat belatedly, thanks for the answers. Having booked with Travelodge on Southbank and then found the same bed and breakfast deal $34 cheaper a few days later (all on their site), I rebooked with them and now I'm not so stressed about the cost of parking. I'm going to ring Crown and The Arts Centre on Friday to check their prices. We're going in on Saturday to see The Australian Ballet's version of Sleeping Beauty. The reviews are excellent and the next morning Bec is doing a steps from the ballet class with the Australian Ballet, which she is very excited about. Unfortunately this will be their last performance for the year (that we can attend). But it's been an excellent season. Will update on any bargain parking. Maggie |

Hello Maggie Hope you enjoy the night in the city, the charge for a 24 hour period parking at the crown carpark is $27.00, payment is on exit. You can use the King Street exit, or Southbank Boulevard entrance Enjoy Gary |

Thanks Gary, we always do enjoy our nights in town, we've been a bit extravagant with theatre this year, but Becky loves it! And so do I. Jon enjoys sitting in the hotel room watching tv on his own. Last time the Ashes were on! WE enjoy the city, but only for very short periods - 24 hours is about our limit. Maggie |
