As you know we've either looking at SA or Victoria to move to, so now I know what to expect in SA what extra little treats do I have to look forward to in Victoria? Any extra crawlies that I have to take into account? :yikes: Sasha :) |

Huntsman spiders (big hairy ones), most of the black mamba's snake relatives live in Victoria, but won't bug you unless you keep heaps of garbage behind your house :med smiley: Nothing out of the ordinary in the sea, thank goodness. |

Last time we were in Melbourne staying at our daughter's house, I discovered a Huntsman just sat looking at me on the lounge room wall. Of course, being a ruffy tuffy, male I wasn't bothered ;) Just ran for my daughter's fiance to come and sort it out. I stood behind him while he despatched it :D :D Big things aren't they? "It won't kill you", he said. "No, but it could wrestle me to the ground and give me a good beating", I said  |

Yeah whitetails are thought to be nasty little buggers although recent reports say there not as bad as people first thought. I still don't fancy getting bitten by one though. 5 years here Ive been bitten once by a huntsman so not doing to bad. :D |

Such spiders exist but I have never seen one, nor do I know anyone who has been bitten. Meryl |

My wife was bitten twice by a whitetail some years back and had to spend 52 hours in a hyperbaric chamber( the sort they put deepsea divers in when they had the bends) Saw a few whitetails while living in Flemington, and we had a redback invasion while we were living in Point Cook |
