In no particular order try: Queen Victoria Market Rialto Observation Deck Houses of Parliament and the area in Spring St, 'Paris end' of Collins St Melbourne Zoo Melbourne Museum Take a city circle (free) tram ride :tartan: Southbank - walk from Princes Bridge to Polly Woodside and stop along the way In the opposite direction walk along the Yarra and take in Melbourne Park, the 'G', Royal Botanic Gardens Albert Park Lake and drive where Schumacher goes before you St Kilda - pier (look for the penguins in the rocks near the end during daylight), marina, walk along the beach, Acland St (sample the cakes) Ferry from Southbank to Williamstown Ferry from Williamstown to St Kilda over the weekend and public holidays Scienceworks, Spotswood Chapel Street shops and Prahran Market Docklands See a 'footy' match Drive around the tree lined streets of Toorak and see how the other half (a percent!) live Walk through any of the many parks Drive or cycle along the beach road from Beacon Cove to Mordialloc Out of Melbourne (mostly west and north from a Williamstown starting point): Yarra Valley and the Dandenongs (Domaine Chandon, Yering Station and Chateau Yering, De Bortoli's particularly recommended, even if you don't drink, have a look at Tea Leaves in Sassafras or Yarra Glen) Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula (Queenscliff and Eastern Beach Geelong particularly good) Macedon Ranges Ballarat, Sovereign Hill, Wildlife Park etc Bendigo Daylesford and Hepburn Springs via Trentham (try the tearoom and bakery, both great) Mornington Peninsula Link Mornington Peninsula and Bellarine Peninsula by taking the ferry from Sorrento to Queenscliff or vice-versa That'll do, there's lots to see!
