Came across this beautiful town at the foot of the mountains, NE of Melbourne.
If you can imagine New England in the Fall, well the little township of Bright is just that . Great place to go for a weekend , lovely river , great wineries and supurb walks. It was my secret but must share .

Have to agree the Ovens Valley is spectacular in Autumn, the colours are gorgeous, and really nice relaxing area.

We just spent a week in a cottage near Porepunkah on a lavender farm.

Beautiful. Did lots of walking and cycling.

Thoroughly recommend it.

Hi,
we stayed in Bright over the Easter Break, it was absolutely gorgeous, took us nearly 5 hours to drive there though from Geelong but well worth it. We stayed at Bright Chalet, full buffet breakfast and evening meal, had a bar and Foxtel so OH was happy.
From Bright you can visit Mt Hotham, Mt Beauty, and a few others, we went to Mt Hotham for half a day, took us over an hour to drive there but the views were out of this world, it was a bit fresher up there though about 10 degrees cooler. So highly recommended.
