Hi, Does anyone have info on how Ringwood and Croydon compare to other suburbs in way of amenities, standard of living, crime levels etc? Many thanks. |

Both are older, well -established suburbs. pretty good for facilities eg swimming pools, sports fields etc. Quite a big choice of schools in both suburbs from public to private. Public transport ditto, both have mainline railway stations with free parking, Croydon possibly easier to get parking at. Both are quite big suburbs, and have some very nice, very pricey parts, and other really not so nice parts. and the entire range in the middle. Ringwood has very easy access to ther eastern freeway and this probably pushes the prices up a bit more. Once the freeway is extended, Croydon will be as accessible. I prefer Croydon on the whole, but probably just know it a bit better. These things just off the top of my head, please let me know if you need more specific info! Sue |

Hi Carl I live in North Croydon, which is a lovely suburb to live in (in my opinion anyway). We live close to the main highway (but not close enough that you can hear the traffic), it's very close to The Dandenongs, there are some great shopping centres, plenty of good schools, great parks, and of course we're very close to the wineries too. Skiing fields (if you're into that) are about a 2 hour drive. As Suemac said, there is a train station at both Croydon and Ringwood (also East Ringwood inbetween). It's about a 45 min drive into town when not in peak hour. Can't really fault it. Haven't seen any real crime or vandlism in the area. There are lots of teens in the area that we live, but they all seem pretty well behaved and polite too. Hope this helps Regards Jaykay |

I agree with all that's been said above, except the eastern freeway hasnt got to Ringwood yet. It' still 20 minutes away......well it was this morning during the peak. But it is coming, trust me  So is the tollway from Ringwood to Frankston. Generally prices are higher the further north you go in either suburb. First-home-buyers would find value in Heathmont I think. Good luck! |
