Hi, just wondering, how do people in australia book up there holidays, i dont mean back home but a family holiday within oz or thereabouts. Do you use travel agents and go for package deals, if so what are the names of them so i can have a look , or do you book independantly using the likes of virgin blue and hotelclub. Also what are the most popular destinations: a: that include flying, b: that you can drive to from melbourne (say cbd for ease as i know melbourne covers a massive area) thanks for your help, ross.... |

Isn't it a case of heading up to the mountains skiing etc in Victoria that is a popular attraction??? I did come across a website that offered flights etc under an aussie website address so I assume that it is suimlar to the UK in that people may use a bit of both - agents and DIY holidays. Where do you fancy going on your holiday within Oz? Sasha :) |

Alot of people go camping for their holidays, so they book directly with a Caravan Park. Some people fly to the warmer climates (Qld, WA) and book flights over the internet and book directly with hotels for accommodation. Others use a travel agent who books the whole thing. Regards |

I am on mailing lists for Virgin Blue, Qantas and Jetstar so that I know about special deals. Popular places to fly from here are Sydney, Sunshine Coast, just about anywhere north in winter. We had a great deal to Adelaide in Jan. For a weekend trip we tend to head out around Bendigo, Ballarat, Great Ocean Rd, the mountains. I would like to take Doug to see the Murray but money is tight now. For accomodation I often use www.wotif.com. Meryl |

Full prices by plane are expensive but there are some great deals quite frequently. You need to be quick to catch them. http://www.bestflights.com.au/web/content/...re_search.shtml This link will give you some idea. Meryl |
