Any one, help!!!

Its doing my head in.... we have our medicare numbers, but dont know which private med scheme to use or where to start... and I,m scared stiff that one of is going to get ill, or one of the kids will get broken at school...... so help if anyone knows how do I get started, is there like a search that does comparable prices, cover, etc, just tell me what you did - we are a family of 4 mum dad, two kids 12 and 16 - HELP

Stop panicking Jan, Even though its good to have private health cover there is nothing wrong with the public system.
So if the kids get broke as you put it they get taken to your nearest casualty dept, get assesed as a category 1 to 5 I think, 1 being most serious & will be taken right away & 5 being, well you shouldn't really be there if your a 5.

The one thing I would advise you to get right away is ambulance cover.

Bordy's right ...don't panic except if you don't have ambulance cover .
Private health care is a CHOICE not a necessity .
If you are registered with medicare then you can get doctors rebates etc.
two of the main service providers are Medibank Private and HBA .
You should consider coverage with dental as well - just had a filling at $195 .

Cost is $100 per year for families , $50 for singles

We use NIB Ambulance Cover @ $50 per family. :D
