Hi,
I have spent many Sunday mornings sitting watcing my sons play baseball in this very suburb of Geelong. Great at 8 AM after commuting from Melbourne.
I recall it as being very green, and more importantly on the road to the beach. ;)

Lovely tennis courts just before you go up the hill into Belmont - Geelong Lawn Tennis Club. I've spent many an Easter, Queen's Birthday weekend etc playing in the tournaments there. Belmont itself doesn't seem too bad either. Good luck!

 Spooky, thats just the place that we are looking at. We visited at xmas when we activated our Visas. Its pretty good. near to town and jobs, quiet enough and house prices are quite good. It was also described as 'lovely by a nice lady in the Geelong tourist agency. Take a look at Grovedale and Highton as well. Im a vehicle mechanic by trade so maybe we'll get to fix up some old crocks together.

Live the dream

Can anyone recommend any 'good areas' in Geelong suitable for families-boys aged 7 years and 15 years old with plenty of activities to keep them both busy?
Also I' m wondering about schools and childcare facilities in the area as I'm hoping to find work as a child care co ordinator when we eventually move there, if anyone has any info i would appreciate it.Thanks

Hi

There are plenty of good suburbs in Geelong, and all seem to have lots to do - plenty of sports facilities, tracks for running cycling, playgrounds etc. We are in Highton and have friends in Wandana Heights, Belmont, Grovedale and Waurn Ponds. All seem to be happy and we are not far from all that we could need. My two are 11 and 15 - both are happy here. There are plenty of childcare facilities for working in that area. If I can be of any help just ask

Hi,
we live in Highton, and we've settled really well, kids have as well, It's a great place for families, 20 mins to the beach (Torquay) and a 1 hour drive to Melbourne. Houses are not too expensive compared to Melbourne and some of the surrounding suburbs.
Good Luck :waving:
