Hi new to this site just wondered if schools use classroom assistants out in Melbourne.
Only asking because we were considering going to Adelaide and they dont use them there rely on parent volunteers apparently.
We are now looking at Melbourne as a possible option and would be grateful for any info you may have.

Thanks
Jane

Hi Jane,

I had to attend a short course at my kids school to work as a Parent Assistant. The work is Voluntary; (School is a Primary Catholic School)

The course covered basics - reading, writing etc. Then you can choose which class you would like to work in - If I'm not instructing in the Gym I am at school helping out the prep students!!!

Hope this helps,

Vrinda

they are called integration aides, put SSO in keyword search. SSO - school support officer, integration aide is an SSO.
