Hi Steve & Bill

Am settling in fine to my empty home (furniture will be delivered on Friday). The litmus test is tomorrow when my wife and daughter arrive and opine on my choice of residence and area.

I'd be surprised if she didn't like it Neil.
Its a fantastic area to live & I'd imagine a great place to bring up the wee yin.

Of course you have a few wineries down there to that you need to check out.
Good luck with the Reunion, look forward to meeting Pat someday soon.

hi bordy how are you doing, yes the wife is still " flying " all over the place, in brisbane for two days this week then back to melbourne and next week we are all going up to darwin for a few days as she has a demo to do for the uni up there, our youngest has settled well into school and made new freinds ,the eldest however has not taken to australia at all and is going home when my mum comes over at the end of august, this has chucked a spanner in the works so to speak and we will have to see how things go for her and ourselves after that so we are seeing as much of oz as possible . good to hear from you and hope all is well your end , steve.

Alls well up here Steve, sorry to hear your eldest is finding it hard to settle. Just a pity she can't stay the two years until getting citizenship then its always open for her to return.
My eldest went through something similar & returned to the UK for a year, luckily for us she lasted 6 months before coming back, she is now in Mornington & quite happy.
I hope it all works out for the best for you all.

Bill.

Can I ask if Mt Eliza is commutable into the CBD. I have heard some great stuff about it and wonder if it is feasible to commute should that be where hubby gets his job. Also, does anyone know of good (state) primary and secondary schools in the area.

The commute by car is no less than 1hr 10min to Flinders Street. Apparently duinrg morning rush hour this can be worse. Some people do commute, some by car, some by parking at Frankston and getting the 1 hour train which leaves frequently.

Hi Bill

Indeed we should cross eachothers paths again. The family do indeed, as widely predicted, like Mt Eliza. Pat was already pretty well sold when I then took her for brekky in the village and then drove her to the top of Arthur's Seat. She's even more sold now.
