My hubby sent a resume 3 weeks ago to the GM in the HQ of a company in Oz. :fingerscrossed:

So far we haven't had an acknowledgement, Is there a "norm" for waiting time for a reply?
thanks
Helen

I found from my job hunting experiences in Australia that very often a company will not acknowledge, or even reply at all to an application or job enquiry.

Hi Helen, Dont give up yet, we have been trying to emigrate since 2001 to Canada, we nearly gave up the dream, but 4 weeks ago husband got an interview -and today received contract of employment for Air International. We found that OZ has more options for us.

What line is your husband in? Is it automotive by any chance? Know loads of jobs going if it is.

Drop me a line and and I will fill you in.

Hope to hear from you soon.

I am not 100% sure, as I have not gone through the text in some time, but if my memory dont fail me. You can get a permanent residence visa and go to australia, even if you do not have a job. If I remember right, all you need is to have a profession that is in a gov. list of desirable professions, and prove that you are a professional in that area of expertese.

the Visa is called general skilled migration
