Hi!

I just hoped somebody could offer me reassurance that it is going to arrive as we first requested it about....5 months ago!
It's a long story, but from one 4 week promised turn around to the next we're still waiting and getting very anxious as deadlines to provide them are fast approaching (what is the time limit again?)

Anyway, just wanted a rant.....

Sophie

I can't comment on the Irish police checks but we have had fun dealing with the UK force as well. We returned to the UK to get all of our ID certified at the local station in order to speed things up rather than sending things from Belgium, only to then have the forms returned with a note saying that we need to provide proof of our address. The lady at the Police station had photocopied our ID and certified it all detailing her name and ranks etc but apparently they had not noticed this. I phoned the help line and they suggested that we returned the forms and we have now had an aplogectic letter saying that they will now deal with it as a priority case. :fingerscrossed: So we are now in OZ waiting for the reports in exactly the position that we had hoped to avoid by taking our trip to the UK before we left.
Good luck and I hope that it is sorted soon. I found that the people on the phone were very helpful and things really moved on once we had a name of someone to deal with.

I had a really awkward witch answer the phone at South Yorkshire Police when I called for mine...especially when I told her my current address was in Italy & she made me spell every bit of it...I was expecting problems...

However...I received my clean report to my address in Italy (spelt wrong) within 2 weeks ....all police forces will be different...
