Just wondering if anyone out there has any experience or guidance before we engage a pet courier to move our family dog out to Melbourne with us...we're at the stage where we need to start the application for import health certificate as hoping to head out Oct/Nov this year...so far have found Jets4pets helpful and someone has recommended Golden Arrow Shippers...would be glad of any advice?
Cheers.

Hi Jayne!

We got quotes from Golden Arrow, Airpets, pet airlines & a few others.

Pet airlines were the cheapest, Golden Arrow the most expensive. After talking with all the companies Airpets seemed the most profesional & they are near too us.

We fly out in September so cant tell you how it went yet!

Good Luck with it

Hi

We shipped a cat and initially we were going to use jet4pets. However although they booked a quarantine spot they failed to arrange a flight and were saying we would have to delay transfer for 3-4 weeks.

We contacted Golden Arrows (yes they were slightly more expensive) but they managed to sort everthing out without delay and bent over backwards to help us.

We had to leave before the cat in the end, but someone from Golden Arrows met my parents at Manchester airport (half way) to save them a drive.

We would highly recommend Golden Arrows without hesitation.

Can anyone tell me how much roughly it cost to ship a cat please? As my 8 year old son will not leave the Uk without ours!

Cheers

Hi Justine

I think the cost of shipping our cat 18 months ago was around £1200. I did the organising myself so not sure about the cost through an agent. Probably the same.
Definately worth bringing the cat if you can afford.

Airpets at Heathrow FANTASTIC ask for Eddie martin .They looked after my two Boxers (one blind and 13 ) so well .As for Spotswood they were awesome .If you get the chance you can visit your pets which we did twice weekly .They where so well looked after .

If any one is going back with pets I have two large dog containers I need to get rid of

Scouser

cost us 5500 pounds to get them over then $1300 for quarentine

We've been quoted £550 per cat and then there are the quarantine fees for 30 days. The best bet is to phone a couple up and they will give you the prices, then you can decide. We're using Golden Arrow as they came highly recommended.

Goodluck
