Hi Madge, Welcome to Britvics. First of all, dont let it worry you too much. Yes its a big move, but if you do all the research, it will surprise you how easy the transition can be. Where are you guys headed ? and when do you expect to arrive ? The rental market is a nightmare at the moment, but things will change in the next couple of months. Worry about a rental, when you actually arrive is my advice. First of all find a few suburbs you like the look of, hire for a month or more, and then when you arrive, start looking in earnest. Pay a bit more for the first few weeks, to get a "feel" of the area. It will be a good investment in the future. Hope this helps, chat soon, Furkew :) |

Hi There, A few questions that might help people advise you: How far is your OH willing to commute? Do you want to be close to cbd generally? Do you want to live near the sea, somewhere a bit more bush or somewhere quite urban? What kind of property do you want to live in? Do you want to send your kids to state or private schools? We live in Williamstown and have a 16 month old. It's about 20 mins train ride from the city and we ll really like it here but there are loads of potential areas you could look at. Toni |

OH is a stonemason so he will be in and around CBD, renting at first so really just looking for areas that have good public schools and not worried about be to near the beach, but between both city and beach would be great, heard about the hills. Would like somewhere that I can get to CBD on the train and that has a few local shops. Any areas I should not look at ... coming from a city I know some areas are no go areas. Thanks |
