Hi Britvicers, :waving: I have been busy putting together a ToDo List in preparation of our migration to Victoria. I have started with the On Arrival list first because a number of those tasks require action to be taken before leaving i.e. one determines the other. I though about how many people have done this before me and how many have yet to do it. So, why not create a list that everyone can use! If you are interested in making this list one that can be used by all please add you comments. The exact order is not the most important thing as you can number the tasks yourself (once you have crossed out those that are not relevant to you), but obviously some things must be done first, or sooner rather than later. I have excluded tasks related to house rental or purchase, car purchase or finding a job because these things are so individual, and require potentially a whole other set of lists. Actions to be taken, ID required, recommended examples and things to consider have been listed per task. My plan is to make the ToDo List available from the internet (via the Victoria StartPage), and to keep it up-to-date. Click the link to take a look at the latest version of the On Arrival ToDo List On Arrival ToDo List - Task Summary
Thank you :D |

I hadn't seen the one on the wiki only the post in the Important Threads section. Hence my thank you. I have include other things and created it in a format that you can print and go. It is meant as a check list not a replacement for all of the information that you have provided. Michele |

So you're going to add a like to the Wiki article for the full details ? The good thing about the Wiki is that everyone can update it, sadly not many people do :( |

Can a printable check list be added to the wiki, if so that's no problem? |

Hi Michele Great list, I'm sure it will help those arriving. The only thing I would say is that to hold back on credit card arrangements until you have got your rental property and have some bills. It may be different for other banks but we were told not to even apply without having gained some credit rating in Aus as we would be turned down, and that then would give us a bad credit rating - catch 22 or what? Have now got our rental but still not got around to applying! Others might have had a different experience. Kim |

There you go... prints fine too [ DELETED ] Only took a couple of minutes, but I have only added your list so far and not the one we all created as we build on it it will grow and we can add links to the other section articles on each topic for further details. I would also suggest that these are ordered in priority The great thing is that everyone can update this  |

Don't forget to add in your links to the relevant VSP sections for each Task ;) No point maintaining two sets of links is there. VSP is real great for links, but when it comes to HowTo's and articles like this I personally think it would be better in a public space that's maintained by all. All we have to do (pun intended) now is get everyone to add to it !! Al |

Looks like a great list Michele, which I would print out if I hadn't just shipped my printers to Australia two days ago.
:D Any chance of it in a pdf/word/excel format that I can get easy access to even when offline? Cheers Matt |

You know what, forget all this. Your far more productive than most of us when it comes to this stuff and as you keep promoting VSP it won't be forgotten. I just think that if it stays on the BritVics Wiki it will never get updated and no-one will ever know its there I'll remove the one from the Wiki that I just added. Al |

If you think that adding links to VSP on Britvics is a problem then I can stop, I am just trying to provide as much information as possible, not annoy people. Michele |

Have to say that I am technically illiterate Michelle so can't comment on the Wiki whatever it is, but the list looks great to me. Thanks for taking the time to help all others in what is a bloody daunting exercise. The world needs people like you! Cheers, Lorraine |

Thank you Lorraine :D Britvics Wiki The Britvics Wiki is an extension of the world renown Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit. The Britvics Wiki contains all of the information that has been learnt via Britvics about migrating to Victoria. Instead of new people having to ask the same questions that have been asked by many before them, they can find the information in the Wiki. It is created by Britvicers for Britvicers. If the information is not in the Wiki, then the results of asking a question should then be added by that person. Here is the link. http://australia.wikia.com/wiki/BritVics/ |

Hi Matt, :waving: I have added a link to an Excel version, so that anyone can save it and use it as they wish. The website version is designed to be printed and used directly. www.victoriastartpage.com/todo2.html Good idea  Cheers, Michele |

I have looked in to the credit card application process and have found that with some companies/banks you can apply while living outside OZ. For those people that have not got a job when they first arrive I think that this could be a good solution i.e. use your UK credit rating to get the Aussie card before you quit your job. |

Just a quick note to let you know that I have added an extra item to the check list: Last Will & Testament It's recommend to have an Australian Will prepared. |
